Happy Easter, everyone!
This week we spent 4 days in Lisbon and it was really great! We didn’t get to see everything, so I definitely have to go back there before my exchange ends, but it’s only 3 hours away by train, so that will not be a problem. I took 175 pictures, but after a harsh half an hour I managed to cut it down to this:
The main square Praça do Comércio with the arch Arco da Rua Augusta
People at the beach in Terreiro do Paço in April, haha, I love it!
The bridge Ponte 25 de Abril over the river Tagus/Tajo
The city hall Cámara Municipal de Lisboa with the square Praça do Município in front
The view over Baixa/downtown from the viewpoint on top of the elevator close to the castle Castelo São Jorge
The train station Rossio
One of the many streets filled with restaurants
One of the cosy streets close to the castle Castelo de São Jorge
Maybe Lisbon’s biggest tourist attraction: the yellow tram
The cathedral Sé de Lisboa
Inside the cathedral
The church seen from above, on our way to the cathedral’s treasury
The rose window over the entrance to the cathedral
The whole cathedral Sé de Lisboa!
Romantic stairs in downtown Baixa-Chiado
Fado night! And it was so great!
Like I said, we had a good time in Lisbon, but there were some things that we didn’t get to do, so I will try to go back soon. Maybe already next weekend, but we will see. Right now we are in Peniche, the city where Signe, my Norwegian friend who I’m travelling with, lived with her family when she was four! We arrived yesterday and got to see the sunset from some cliffs by the ocean. Today we went to Óbidos and it was so nice! I will try to update you as soon as possible with the new pictures.
Enjoy your last day of Easter holiday tomorrow! We are going home to Porto to celebrate a friend’s birthday!
